Southern Home Services displays 27 local business brands across 11 states.[4][5]
Two Austin brands have the same recorded business name.[15][16]
Three Florida brands have recurring names on their trade licenses.[28][29]
This is a map of selected relationships, not a count of the platform’s legal entities or total licenses.

The company behind the local names
Gryphon Investors announced in October 2021 that it had acquired Southern HVAC from MSouth Equity Partners. The release put Southern HVAC and Canada’s Right Time under North American Essential Home Services (NAEHS), with separate operating strategies and management teams. Southern HVAC management retained an equity stake at the time; the deal terms were not disclosed.[3]
Gryphon listed NAEHS as a current portfolio company in its directory reviewed October 22, 2026. Its NAEHS profile describes a holding company comprising Right Time and Southern HVAC. Those company-authored pages support current Gryphon portfolio affiliation and Southern HVAC’s place in the group. They do not disclose today’s equity percentages or every holder.[18][30]
Southern says its model keeps local brands while supplying shared training and operational support. Its leadership page names Drew Poskon as president, Michael Booher as chief financial officer, Jarrod Brinker as chief strategy officer, Lilah Wiatr as chief growth officer and Harry Geller as chief human resources officer. The page lists its office in Maitland, Florida.[14][23]
The homepage reports 27 businesses, 11 states, 1,200 vehicles and 1,500,000 customers served. It gives no measurement period beside those figures. The locations directory has 27 operating-brand cards plus a separate office card. A brand card identifies a customer-facing name and location, not necessarily a separate legal entity.[4][5]
Two Austin brands, one business name in the license records
Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) details reviewed October 22 list SA&H Western Holdings, LLC on A/C contractor credential TACLA00029215C, with Precision Heating & Air as a DBA. A second credential, TACLB00112806E, names SA&H Western Holdings LLC and Fox Service Company as its DBA. Both details displayed Active status.[15][16]
Precision advertises its first credential, and Fox advertises both.[7][6]
For an Austin competitor review, that means Precision and Fox should remain distinct storefronts but should not be counted as wholly unrelated businesses based only on their websites. The record does not say whether the brands share dispatch, prices, advertising budgets or customer lists. Nor does a named licensee automatically identify the equity owner.[15][16]
Three Florida brands, two recurring licensee names
Advanced Air Home Services, Patrick’s and FAST of Florida advertise six HVAC and plumbing credentials among them.[19][20][21]
In the retained Florida construction-license file labeled October 17, each corresponding record names DEPARI, CHARLES R JR as licensee. The identifiers are CAC1823748 and CFC1433444 for Advanced Air, CAC1823758 and CFC1433455 for Patrick’s, and CAC1823923 and CFC1433599 for FAST. Each selected row has source status A.[28]
Their websites advertise EC13010897, EC13010899 and EC13008712, respectively.[19][20][21]
These electrical credentials appear in a separate retained October 17 Florida file.[29]
All three name PHILLIPS, JAMES MICHAEL as licensee, with the corresponding business names and source status A. The repeated names show recorded licensing relationships across the three brands and more than one trade. They do not by themselves establish ownership, improper license use or a shared field crew.[29]
A contractor tracking competition in Florida can keep the three customer-facing brands separate, then group these selected license relationships for further review. That avoids mistaking three storefronts for three fully independent licensing networks. It does not predict who sets prices or wins work.
What the selected license count includes
The reviewed floor is 12 distinct credentials. Nine are Florida records from the October 17 retained files.[28][29]
Three are Texas A/C contractor details reviewed October 22.[15][16][17]
The third Texas detail, TACLB00085298E, names Jessica Leah Acrey and Nick’s Plumbing & Sewer Service and displayed Active status. It has no DBA entry; that field should not be filled by inference.[17]
The Florida files supply individually matched rows, not an accepted statewide refresh. The last accepted statewide Florida database endpoint remains August 29, 2026; the October 17 full candidate did not pass that acceptance check. The October 17 date comes from the retained source-directory label and matching scheduled log, not a per-response capture time. October 22 is the review date. Other brands, states and licensing authorities are outside this selected count. A brand missing from it has not thereby been shown to lack a license.
Acquisitions add context, not a current capacity measure
Southern announced Dunn’s HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical in Alabama in a February 2026 company article and Blazer Heating, Air & Plumbing in the Richmond, Virginia market in May. A later company article says Presidential Heating & Air Conditioning acquired Shipley Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning effective August 24, 2026. It says Shipley would join Presidential and transition to the Presidential name, adding plumbing and related services in Montgomery County, Maryland. Presidential is described as part of Southern’s network. The planned name transition is not proof that the rebrand has finished.[26][27][31]
Those announcements identify deals, not today’s crew count or open capacity. A local operator can watch the brand directory and the same credential IDs over time, and compare actual services and customer offers in the market before drawing conclusions about competitive strength. A changed license field is a lead to verify, not proof of a sale or a departure.
Common questions
Are Fox Service Company and Precision Heating & Air connected?
Yes, in the reviewed Texas license records. Their separate A/C contractor details name SA&H Western Holdings and their respective brand DBAs.[15][16]
Fox also advertises the Precision credential.[6][7]
The records show a business-name and licensing connection, not a full ownership chart.
Are Southern’s 27 brands separate legal companies?
The company reports 27 businesses and displays 27 operating-brand cards, plus its office card. Those counts do not establish how many legal entities sit behind the brands.[4][5]
Do the Florida records show a license violation?
No violation follows from the shared names. The nine selected rows have source status A. The statewide acceptance limit is a separate data-quality boundary, not a finding against those brands.[28][29]
Is 12 the total number of Southern licenses?
No. The selected set contains nine Florida credentials.[28][29]
It also contains three Texas A/C contractor credentials.[15][16][17]
The combined count is not a platform-wide license, company, employee or location total.
